Ambulance Director:
The principal function of an employee in this class is to manage and implement the daily and long-term direction of the ambulance district, including emergency response, recovery, mitigation and planning. Responsibilities include management and administration of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) county-wide. The job requires strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to train and manage volunteer and full-time EMT staff and develop emergency operations plans, procedures, and policies. This is a department head position under the general direction of the Clearwater County Ambulance Board, with significant leeway granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment, with occasional field inspections required.

EMS Captain:
The principal function of an employee in this class is to work under the direction of the Ambulance Director to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibility may include interviewing, hiring and training full-time employees/volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees/volunteers; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This class is also responsible for responding to emergencies, delivering emergency medical care and functioning as incident commander or scene officer as required. EMS Captain assists the Director with planning, education and direction for the ambulance service; assists with protocols and revisions; works closely with field personnel; and assists in quality assurance program through post-incident analysis and debriefings.

Opening in the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office for a Communication Specialist. This job will monitor, receive, and transmit radio messages to law enforcement, medical, and fire personnel. Answer incoming phone calls. Fill out initial police reports. Maintain radio and phone logs. Assist jail deputies. Requires basic clerical abilities such as computer and typing skills. A typing test is required. Employer will provide additional job specific training. This is a fast-paced work environment. Applicants must have ability to multi-task, be highly organized and able to deal with a high stress work environment. Must have no felony arrests and no illegal drug use in the last 5 years. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver`s license. Also requires attending the dispatch academy within a year of hire date. This is a full time position. Shifts will rotate every two months (Day & Graveyard ).

Deputy Auditor/Recorder and Elections Deputy  
A full-time position with starting pay at $13.62 per hour with a 40 hour work week. 

Minimum Acceptable Experience and Training

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
  • Experience working in election administration or working as a poll worker.
  • Experience performing bookkeeping and accounting duties, particularly in accounts payable or receivable.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this job.

Essential Physical Abilities
An employee in this class should have sufficient physical and mental capability, with or without reasonable accommodation to:

  • To communicate effectively in person and on the telephone; to discern verbal instructions.
  • View and review a wide variety of written and electronic materials, distinguish letters and numbers and to see in detail, printed materials; to operate computer and related office equipment.
  • Handle a variety of records and files; to type with speed and accuracy and to operate standard office equipment and a personal computer.
  • Perform essential job functions in an office environment that requires lifting/moving 25 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling, stretching and other physical exertions including performing tasks involving hand/wrist/arm movements.
