Vehicle vs. Cow Accident
On 7/5/20 at approximately 2150 hours, a Clearwater County Sheriff Deputy responded to the area of milepost 24 on Highway 11 for a report of a vehicle striking a cow crossing the Highway. Addison Thomson (18) was traveling south on Highway 11, Weippe when approximately four cattle were crossing the highway. Thomson decreased her speed below the posted speed limit to allow the the cattle to cross. Once believed all cattle were across the road an all black cow entered Thomson's lane of travel. The collision caused significant damage to the front passenger fender, also cracking the passenger headlight. Deputies searched the area for an injured cow and was unable to locate the animal. The owner of the cattle is Benjamin Forsman (34) of Lewiston, who was later notified.
