Upper Fords Creek Rural Fire District was approved by its voters in November 2003 and officially recognized in January 2004.
They acquired their first engine from Greer Fire Rural Fire Department and two more through government programs. They are still in a building stage and in need of members, equipment and a building, according to Chief Rob Smith.
